Scala Rider Teamset problem

Post by Andre on 4th August 2008, 05:47

Used the pillion unit yesterday for the first time and just could not get it to work properly. Firstly, I could not get the auto activation (VOX) of the intercom going. On permanent intercom it worked but every now & then just "beeped" and that was the end. The same happened as soon as my Zumo talked to me. Any ideas what I am doing wrong Question Maybe Pauli can help. Been using the rider unit for months without any problems scratch

Hi Andre,

You should try and repair the two units, should solve your problem.

SYNCHRONIZING INTERCOM BETWEEN THE PASSENGER AND
DRIVER HEADSETS

Synchronize the devices by proceeding as follows:

1. Simultaneously press and hold the Intercom Buttons of both devices for
at least 10 seconds while watching the Status Light on the Passenger unit.
2. Once the Status Light on the Passenger unit lights steady red, wait three
seconds and then release both Intercom Buttons.
3. If successful, the steady red Status light on the Passenger unit will switch
to a steady blue light for a few seconds, then begin flashing blue. Your
two headsets are now synchronized for Intercom communication.
4. If the synchronization has failed, the steady red Status light on the
Passenger unit will turn off without switching to steady blue for a few
seconds, and you must repeat the synchronization procedure.

There is no problem fitting the Scala Rider Teamset to the Systen V, so unless the Q2 is different, it should be possible. Read the instructions again carefully study

Anyone know if the Scala FM can be fitted with an external radio antenna?
Reception is sometimes dodgy and then it goes searching....

I know it defeats the purpose but they provide a cable to connect it to a MP3 player, so I assume one can also connect it to an external FM radio with stronger reception Question
Richard, I looked on the website (sure you have too) but they say nothing about external antenna or boosting FM signal. Maybe one should drop them a mail.

Interesting myself and Trenic are the sole importers? Hopefully they have given you the correct installation procedures and also mentioned that there is an optional longer boom available?

Hi Richard,

No, this option is unfortunately not available.

What will be availably soon is an audio plug on the new boom, and this will enable you to connect your iPOD etc. Will keep you guys posted on that, should have it within the next month.

I have also purchased the Scala Rider Teamset comms. system buet could not yet get the auto activation to operate. It stays connected all the time and I have followed all the procedures as per the manual but without any success. I think it worth spending more money on a Beahr system although, it is not wireless

KobusJ,

You are welcome to come and visit me, or maybe try to re"PAIR" the two units again, should solve the problem.

PS - There is a reason why Baehr's slogan is "Nothing else compares"!

I have test Baehr Helmets and Systems available for demo rides should you be interested.

I have paired the unit on numorous occasions but had no luck at all. Can you give an indication what a Beahr system would cost? Where is your office. Should perhaps pay you a visit so we can try and sort the problem out

Have to say that I have a Scala rider teamset which I pair to my Zumo 550 and have had no problems at all. I find the system great. Difficult to hear the wife when travelling above 120km/h but that could be something to do with my hearing and age.
