HID Lighting

I have installed a HID lighting system on my R1200GS which I have purchased from Bikegear SA. I am very impressed with the light output of this unit. The only problem is fitting the ballast for the system. I will have to fabricate a proper bracket as this is a bit of a shortcoming on the system. The rest however, is great and I think, a worthwhile investment.

I think of putting a small speaker inside the ear pockets of my BMW sport helmet (Full Face) and need advice.

Can it be done, without cutting the inside protection to the bone?
If it can be done, where will I get the small speakers from and how difficult is it to do it?

My helmet is tight fit around the ears and not sure if this will work.

When/why do you replace your helmet? I presume that after a severe oopsie a new helmet will be in order, but what about when you have dropped it a few times, or maybe after 3 years you are tired of the graphics ... Maybe a new bike is a valid reason for a new lid as well

Hi

Please see this link;

http://www.motorcyclistonline.com/gearbox/motorcycle_helmet_review/index.html

It is a long read but please try and stick with it, you will be glad you did. For those of you with ADD let me give you the very abbreviated version.

Tests were conducted that proved, the rigidity of the Snell rated helmet shell, transmits too much energy to the brain in a collision and may actually cause a head injury.

The DOT and EC standards although not as rigid as Snell ...

How many time have you seen stickers on the back of a helmet with the words "DOT approved" ?

Have you ever used this as a method of selecting one helmet over another?

If you did, you've been taken for a ride...

THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS A "DOT-APPROVAL" FOR HELMETS....!

There are even State laws in the USA that require bikers to wear DOT-approved helmets,

and yet "D.O.T. itself has no authority to 'approve' or 'not approve' any item of equipment and ...
