Oor spoedkameras en lokvalle het ons nou al die meeste opsies gehoor/oordink.....vanaf ‘n relatief passiewe laizzes faire benadering, ‘n kom ons uitoorle hulle soveel as moontlik benadering tot en met die zero tolerance benadering wat dikwels aan New York se Rudy Giuliani toegeskryf word. So, ek gaan nie hier nou weer hierop in nie behalwe om te se dat ek in beginsel heelhartig saamstem met Pieter wat skryf dat You can buy the toolkit at x amount and study up on all the technicalities. But I believe the cost effective way is just too learn to read and understand the road signals and learn to drive/ride your vehicle accordingly en Dani wat se dat Whatever the case may be: Shouldn't we just obey the traffic rules in any case?
Ek is vroeer vanmiddag besig met ‘n ontspanningsrit op die Delmaspad na Bapsfontein en dan weer terug met Lynwoodweg. So tussen 13 en 15 kilometer vanaf die laaste Pretoria-huise (op die Delmaspad) tref die Suid-Afrikaanse realiteite my toe egter opeens soos ‘n hamerslag: Een of ander verkeersbeampte met ‘n mobiele laser/radar apparaat in die hand besig met ‘n spoedlokval. Om hom is vier motorvoertuie so tussen vyf meter en twintig meter van hom af. Terwyl ek op hierdie onderwerp is: Ek vermoed motorfietsryers gaan dit moeilik he vanaf November 2010 omdat die 10 kpu grasie (waar motoriste byvoorbeeld eers vanaf 131 kpu beboet word in ‘n 120 kpu sone) dan glo verval?? Die meeste motorfietsryers het nie ‘n spoedkontrole-fasiliteit op hulle fietse nie en ek meen dit is doodgewoon moeiliker vir ‘n motorfiets om ‘n spoed van presies 119 of 120 kpu oor ‘n lang afstand te handhaaf as ‘n motor. Om die waarheid te se, ek vermoed dit is basies gevaarlik om die hele tyd jou spoedmeter dop te hou in plaas van die pad voor jou of die motors langs/agter jou.

Is waar - mens gaan dit dan maar so uit die hoek van jou oog moet doen. Die modelle met spoedkontrole sal natuurlik nie die probleem he nie.

Alle spoedmeters het 'n toleransie van omtrent 7-8%. Hulle kan dus nie vir baie praktiese redes jou vanaf die presiese merk begin beboet nie omdat die voertuie se meet apparaat nie akkuraat genoeg is nie. Vir daardie rede is die 10km/h grasie ingebou. Nie seker of die manne hulle huiswerk mooi gedoen het op die een nie. Ek is vir nakoming van die wet, maar dan moet dit darem ook prakties uitvoerbaar wees.

Volgende ding wat ons hoor is dat al ons karre & bikes moet ingaan na spesiaal-geakkrediteerde instansies om die spoedmeters te ondersoek en kalibreer en sertifiseer. En dan moet jy dit elke 5 jaar laat doen en dit kos jou elke keer 'n paar honderd rand. En dan werk die stelsel nie waar jy jou bespreking moet maak nie en nou en dan word groot sindikate blootgele wat vervalsde spoedmeter sertifiserings op die swart mark verkoop het. Dan maak Carte Blanche 'n geheime video daaroor en dan ontken al wat 'n regeringsampternaar is dat daar fout is. Dan gaan ons maar weer aan van daar af.

Klink reg - volgende vragie in die sorry saga - hulle kan nie eens nou die jaarliks aanwas van nuwe aansoekers wat die mark betree, hanteer nie. Hoe de d????r gaan hulle die ook nog hanteer, want lets face it - hulle gaan die gebruik en so veel moontlik boetes in die eerste tyd na die implementering van die demerit stelsel - Nov 09 - skryf - mos goeie inkomste bron.

Wright, 68, had been on the run since 1999 when he was charged for wire and mail fraud in South Africa.
A Tennessee policeman who has been working for less than a year caught the fugitive travelling 24km/h over the 56km/h speed limit.
Wright had complained of chest pains during his arrest and was taken to Williamson Medical Centre.
Members of the FBI's Violent Crime and Gang Task Force immediately rushed to the hospital to keep watch over Wright.
He is expected to be returned to South Africa following judicial proceedings in the US.
The police officer who arrested Wright, Sam Greer has been working since 2008.
After the arrest, Greer said: "You never know what you will find when you stop someone for something as simple as speeding." "

Ja - is waar - die oorgrote meederheid van ons se enigste oortreding is dat ons soms 'n bietjie te vinnig ry - en dit is al. Bedoel wat is 170 nou in 'n 120 km sone - LT idle dan min of meer.
